Diagnostics & repairs, on video

A closer look at the work — from fault-finding on site to controllers back on the bench.

Jungheinrich Solopilot Failure

Diagnosing the fault with the software allows us to be certain that the lever has failed, and not a system incorrectly throwing up a fault.

Jungheinrich EFG 320 — Steering Error

The all-in-one control system would not accept the steering parameters for calibration for centre point. The controller had to go away for repair.

Jungheinrich EFG

Diagnosing with Judit 4.37. Truck all works, with an error on display and a constant alarm. The issue was related to an aftermarket horn fitted, which was triggering the alarm.

TCM Electric

Diagnosing using Trucktool. Slow speed reported — the seatbelt slow-speed function had activated, as the switch had failed and was triggering the truck to believe the driver wasn't wearing their seatbelt.

Battery Faults — A Common Culprit

Bad batteries are often the cause of most electric forklift problems. When you get multiple unrelated errors, start by checking over the battery.

Jungheinrich PPT

Driving at creep speed. Judit diagnosed a motor temperature sensor fault, confirmed by testing the thermistor, which showed high resistance.

Linde H-Series

Display shows an engine management light. Using Pathfinder software and an engine diagnostic cable, the codes were cleared and the display cleared.

Linde E-Series — LAC Controller

Diagnosing a fault to an LAC controller, then replacing and programming.

Cesab Electric

Customer sent the controllers in for repair, saying the truck wouldn't drive. The controllers tested OK and were fitted back to the truck — the truck was working, with the actual fault down to a brake sensor issue.

Jungheinrich Solopilot & Multipilot fault codes

Jungheinrich Solopilot and Multipilot control units

Solopilot and Multipilot controls are fitted across a wide range of Jungheinrich forklifts, and when they fail they tend to throw up a handful of recognisable error codes. Codes 3111, 3121, 3131 and 3141 all relate to a hydraulic lever improbable error.

This is a common symptom when a hydraulic lever or switch inside the unit has failed. Code 3801, travel direction improbable, is another frequent fault, since these units control both hydraulic functions and driving switches from a single unit.

Any of these can stop the truck functioning altogether, leaving customers stuck with a forklift that won't move. Because we see this so often, we keep a large stock of Solopilot and Multipilot units on hand, and can usually supply a replacement — new or refurbished — on the spot, along with repairs to your existing unit where that's the better option. All parts we supply are genuine, and wherever possible we aim to have your truck back up and running before we leave site.
